In Akron, the busiest hours are Friday and Saturday evenings and any night with a big game, when quoted delivery times can stretch past an hour; ordering before 5 p.m. or picking up yourself avoids the wait. Delivery radiuses are small, often two to five miles, and a minimum order plus a delivery fee is normal, with a tip of a few dollars for the driver on top. Lunch specials such as two slices and a drink, or a personal pie, are the cheapest way to eat at most shops across Ohio on weekdays. Toppings are priced per item and half-and-half pies are usually free to request. Gluten-free crusts and vegan cheese are increasingly common but often cost a few dollars extra, and cross-contact in a shared oven is standard unless the shop says otherwise.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 11:30 am–9 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. The food is great here. After going a few times the key in my opinion is to know what to buy. The pizza is good and is much better when you ask for it well done. The meatballs and the bolognaise sauce are excellent. They also have great sauerkraut balls.

We didn't have to wait to be seated which was great. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful and took our orders carefully. She made sure that the owner spoke to me about my food allergies so that I would have a safe experience. I decided to order the pizza and my husband got the Eggplant Parmesan. We waited a bit, but it's good to get freshly made hot food. The place was packed and everyone was enjoying their food, family and conversations. As for the food, it was ok. It's hard to compare when your husband is Sicilian and used to his mom's special sauce :).

One of the best family owned restaurants anywhere. They hit all the marks on the classic Italian recipes. The Saturday special gnocchi bolognese is one of my favorite dishes. They also secretly have some of the best chicken wings you’ll ever eat.

We used Dontino’s to cater our daughter’s Air Force commissioning and college graduation party this weekend, and wow. House full of tough critics, all 100% Italian, people were raving about the food all night long. The wedding soup was outstanding. The chicken parmesan is always on point. And the cannolis? I honestly have never seen 50 cannolis disappear so fast in my life. Our menu included pasta, meatballs, Chicken parm, wedding soup, a beautiful salad with a generous amount of bottled dressing, grated cheese, bread, butter, and cannolis, all with an assortment of serving utensils. I cannot neglect to mention that gluten-free options are available, which is not always the case. GF penne pasta and grilled chicken were available to accommodate our guests with food restrictions. The team at Dontino’s packaged everything perfectly, helped load up our car, and the entire experience was first class from beginning to end. You can tell they really care about what they do. Anthony, thank you for including a special gift for our graduate🍾 Such a nice touch. Highly recommend

Hadn’t been here in a decade or more, but was raised on the food with grandparents who lived on Avon Street right up the road. Mostly how I remember it, but all good. My wife loved the chicken parm, my perch dinner was excellent and the kiddo enjoyed her pizza. This is a Northside classic, and most restaurants of its type are long gone. I regret having waited so long to return.
